Our Process

Recycling Technology

The first step of recycling your redundant IT equipment is arranging your collection. This can be done over the phone, via email or through our online booking system. You will need to provide us with a brief list of the equipment that you need disposing of. We can then give you a unique job number and confirm your collection. You will then receive an email confirming the date of your collection. Our free collection does require PCs, Laptops or Servers to be included. We are very flexible with our collections and we will adjust our service to suit your requirements.

A pre-collection fee may be incurred under the following circumstances:

  • Expediting urgent collections
  • Collection of CRT Monitors (Hazardous WEEE)
  • Collection of exclusively not IT specific waste

Upon arrival to your premises, a member of our logistics team will carefully record all equipment that needs to be collected and will provide you with a signed waste transfer note. Our vans are fitted with security cameras and are tracked every step of the way back to our facility for your peace of mind.

Equipment breakdown

Our technical team will then process your collection and record everything about your equipment in high detail ensuring all serial numbers and asset tags are recorded correctly. This information will be available to you in your asset report once the entire job is complete.

Every job is checked and quality controlled by a senior member of our team to ensure that we continue to provide the best service possible. We have a wide range of procedures in place to prevent mistakes. There are regular spot checks and quality control measures that occur throughout the day to ensure that your equipment is being processed to the highest standard. All of our staff are fully trained and have been DBS checked (formally CRB checked).

Data sanitisation

All hard drives will be securely data erased using the British HMG Infosec Standard 5 Enhanced (3 pass, verified) sanitisation method or upon request, complete physical data destruction.

If complete physical data destruction is requested, we can offer an on-site video recorded data destruction service. This is available upon request and can sometimes occur in a fee.

Asset report

Once all of your equipment has been processed, you will be given a unique password to download your complete asset report containing detailed information about all equipment that was collected and processed; including any data sanitisation certificates or video destruction evidence. This report will be available through the client login section of our website.

Our free-of-charge asset reports provide serial numbers, makes & models of PCs, Laptops, Servers and a summary of all other equipment collected, as well as our standard data destruction certificate.

All of our clients are also offered a ‘Premium Asset Report’ in our client area, this report will provide you with further details on all systems, as well as HDD serial numbers and unique hardware tied certificates. There is also a figure demonstrating how much CO2 your business has offset by recycling using Innovent Recycling, the weights of re-used and recycled systems and a WEEE certificate to demonstrate that all waste has been disposed of correctly.
